interior painting part 1

The painters have started with the interior wall colors now. The main color is called “macadamia,” and it is in the master bedroom, second floor hallway, kids’ bathroom, office, entry hall, guest bedroom, music room, utility room, and mud room. That leaves the kitchen, dining room, and guest bath which we painted a sage green, and the family room, which is a darker green.

We upgraded to eggshell finish paint for the improved durability. That was an expensive upgrade, but with two kids I don’t regret it. We’ve consistently made choices that are intended to make maintenance easier. So anyway, you don’t want to read my writing about what color the walls are, you want to see the photos, I know. As always, mouse over a photo for some additional explanation.

I recently bought a new home and chose the macadamia color paint for the interior. The color I chose had a sort of light greenish tinge to it and did not look anything like the macadamia here. I need to say here that the small pieces of display used to choose colors do not give a true picture of what a room would look like once painted, and that was the dilemma that faced me. I went ahead and chose the macadamia, and now I am hopeful that I made the right color choice. It is complemented with a bright white border.

We just finished a large addition to our living room and chose macadamia color for all of the walls including the old space. I love it! It has really updated the look of the whole room. We also added a fireplace with stacked stone. I think the paint color will really compliment the tones we have in the stone. The green you have here is similar to the green we have in our kitchen. It’s really nice to see a new custom home with the same colors we chose. Good luck with your construction…it looks beautiful!
