I hope you get a good architect when i did a weeks work experience at the local architectural practice i was slightly concerned by the fact that quite a lot of them lacked a certain amount of flair.<br /> Although your house is going to be a very interesting and important part of your life an architect may be just considering it a run-of-the-mill job and therefore perhaps not as interested. In fact when i was talking to a partner in an architecture firm he listed the worst thing about the job as dealing (or having even) clients. Therefore I'd place a lot of importance in getting an interested architect which maybe might mean someone with not as much experience in ICFs.<br /> Still, 6 of one, half a dozen of another. I'd expect your ability in design to help the creative process and makesure you're involved in the initial design processes as it'll help you steer the architect onto the kind of house you're expecting a lot faster.
