The roof is done, and that’s the big change on the elevation. After we get the exterior painted, there won’t be a lot of change to the view from the street. There’s still a few bits of ductwork left to finish, and now that the bulk of it it in, the plumber is moving ahead […]
Those guys were working in 100 degree weather (that’s about 40 in real degrees) up on the roof. I can understand why they’d want to get it done quick. I snapped a couple shots from the road and went right inside to inspect other stuff.

We pulled up and there were dudes walking around on the roof. Normally by the time we show up on the site, the subs are gone for the day. But these guys worked until they were more or less in the dark.
Some of that pipe is installed and looking like something now. I won’t bury you in pictures of roughin plumbing (although I certainly could). Jut a few to give you the feel that some work got done today.
We noticed the plumber had been here on Saturday. Didn’t do much, but marked things out and brought out material for the DWV (drain waste and vent) lines.
I’d show you the elevation shots, but they look just like last time–no sign of roofers.
It’s still just sitting there, but we have roofing material delivered.
I have some high hopes that roofing might start over the weekend. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
For now, nothing much is going on at the job site. We had some meetings with the cabinet salesman, and he came out and measured, and drew the layout on our floor with crayon. We met with the builder and decided some details, like doing the back screen porch in cedar, and exactly where the […]
At this point, the framing is “done” except for the front porch columns, the doors, and the back porch. In any event, the framing crew is gone for a while, and will come back to finish those items.
