custom home ++ hardwood floors day 2 10/21/2003

« Previous entry: hardwood floors day 1 || Next entry: hardwood floors complete »

Really, not too much hardwood floor actually got installed today. One big section of the boards that were laid out in the kitchen and dining rooms are now installed.

Having the hardwood floor nailed down doen't look hugely different, but it does start to look like a real hardwood floor now. I am copletely convinced I like the 3-5 pattern now as well. Let's say I strongly like it. Heck, let's say I love it.

If I can borrow a quote from the NOFMA site: "While we can't claim to be a remedy for everything life brings, there is one thing we can say with certainty. A real wood floor can make your home look good."

All in all, I'd say they got about 25% done with the floor today, maybe 30%. We burned up most of the scrap trim material today too. I've saved probably way too much to use for various woodworking projects, but anything with nails in it, damaged, or just too short to be any good to me got torched.
