custom home ++ significant site cleanup 10/06/2003
« Previous entry: knockdown texture on drywall || Next entry: hardwood floors: material delivered »
We spent a good chunk of Sunday with a wheelbarrow collecting trash and putting it into our burn pit. We worked about three hours and got the site pretty well policed--only about another hour's worth of cleanup work remains to do before we can say the site is free of debris and ready for final grade. What precipitated this is one fo the subs dumping out our (full, of course) trash barrel, causing papers and trash to blow everywhere.
Saturday I spent some quality time with a broom sweeping up large amounts of drywall dust and insulation, including sweeping under the stars where a lot of debris had accumulated. so we're about ready to start the installation of hardwood floors, which is supposed to happen this week.
While we worked Sunday though, my five-year-old son and his cousin hunted for "critters" in the pasture. They were amazingly successful, catching:
- two toads
- a small frog
- a mouse
- dozens of grasshoppers
- a beetle
- a dead bird
That's quite a successful safari. I'm not going to bore you with pictures of trash, but I'll show you the two Steve Irwin wannabes in action.
