custom home ++ gravel under my basement and seed on my shoulder 05/23/2003

« Previous entry: footings done || Next entry: foundation is poured »

We now have a bunch of gravel in the basement. Plus the county seeded the shoulder along where they graded the road.

Ever one to miss the obvious, the first thing I noticed was that chalk lines had been snapped along the footings, marking where the forms for the walls will go. I missed seeing the several tons of gravel that had been dumped in th bottom of the excavation.

I also did a bit of mowing, you can see in the last pic. Note also I've now taken 4,000 pics with this digital camera (Fuji FinePix 1400). I expect to hit about six or seven thousand before the project is done.

4,500 pictures!?!?!?! WOW, remind me not to ask you for a slide show of your house. But it's looking very nice!

Really cool to see the progress. I just stumbled onto this site following a link to some of your case-mods.

The oportunities of tailoring a house to your own needs appeals to me, and this is a route I'm interested in for my own future needs. Granted, we'll probably still be happy in our current place for a few more years. :-)
